A. H. Stephens State Park

Located in Crawfordville, GA, just off of I-20.

The Group Camp features four units (or ‘Towns’) of seven cabins,  one lodge, and a bathhouse.  Cabins have four twin-sized beds, four lockers, electricity, and a ceiling fan.  Lodges have six twin-sized beds, electricity, two ceiling fans, and a fireplace.

From Atlanta:

  • Take I-20 East out of Atlanta.
  • Take Exit 148 to Crawfordville.
  • Take a left off the exit on to Highway 22.
  • Continue about two miles to the intersection with Highway 278; take a right.
  • Go about a mile and take a left on Monument Street, the first light.
  • The road will end at a T-intersection, take a left.
  • Take the first right, the road the leads into the campsite.
  • Follow the signs toward “Group Camp.”

From Augusta:

  • Take I-95 South to I-20 in South Carolina, exit 160B
  • Take I-20 West to Exit 148 in Crawfordville.
  • Take a right off the exit onto Highway 22.
  • Continue about two miles to the intersection with Highway 278; take a right.
  • Go about a mile and take a left onto Monument Street, the first light.
  • The road will end at a T-intersection; take a left.
  • Take the first right. The road leads into the campsite.
  • Follow the signs toward “Group Camp.”

Parking is along the entrance road no closer than the central field.

Hard Labor Creek State Park

Located in Rutledge, GA, just off of I-20.

Camp Daniel Morgan

Camp Daniel Morgan features two units (‘Towns’) of four cabins and a bathhouse. Cabins have four twin-sized beds and two twin-sized bunk beds, electricity, and shelving.

From Atlanta:

  • Take I-20 East to Exit 101. (You can also take 285 to 20 to avoid downtown Atlanta).
  • Turn left on Georgia Highway 12 E/US-278 E for 3 miles
  • Slight left onto Dixie Highway, and go for 1.3 miles.
  • Turn left onto Old Mill Road for 2.6 miles.
  • Turn left onto Fairplay Road for approximately .25 miles
  • Turn right into Camp Daniel Morgan

From Augusta:

  • Get to I-20 and go WEST!
  • Take Exit 105 toward Rutledge/Newborn
  • Turn right onto Newborn Road for 2.1 miles
  • Slight left to stay on Newborn Road for .5 mile
  • Left onto Dixie Highway, then the first right onto Fairplay Street
  • Turn right into Camp Daniel Morgan

Camp Rutledge

Camp Rutledge features four units (or ‘Towns’) of six cabins, one counselor cabin, one lodge, and a bathhouse.  Cabins have four twin-sized beds, 3 shelves, and electricity. Counselor Cabins have two rooms, one with one twin-sized bed and one with two twin-sized beds, and electricity.  Lodges have no beds, a couch, a fireplace, and electricity.

From Atlanta:

  • Take I-20 East to Exit 101. (You can also take 285 to 20 to avoid downtown Atlanta).
  • Turn left on Georgia Highway 12 E/US-278 E for 3 miles
  • Slight left onto Dixie Highway, and go for 1.3 miles.
  • Turn left onto Old Mill Road for 2.6 miles.
  • Turn left onto Fairplay Road for approximately 1 mile
  • Turn right onto Camp Rutledge Road for 2.3 miles, then turn right to go towards CAMP RUTLEDGE.  This will be PAST the normal turn for Daniel Morgan, but still on the right side of the road.  It is a dirt/gravel road in parts, and you will feel like you’re driving FOREVER, and this is OK.  You are going the right way.  Just keep going, and you will see the tavern, etc. at the end of the drive.  Parking will be on the left as you enter the campsite.

From Augusta:

  • Get to I-20 and go WEST!
  • Take Exit 105 toward Rutledge/Newborn

Indian Springs State Park

Located in Flovilla, GA

The Group Camp features four barracks.  Each barrack has forty twin-sized beds, two full-sized beds, a couch, and a central bathroom.  These barracks have electricity and are heated.

From the North:

  • Take I-75 South to Exit 205. (You can also take 285 to 675 to 75 to avoid downtown Atlanta).
  • Turn left on Georgia Highway 16 to Jackson, Georgia. You will stay on this road for some time. You will pass an Ingles and a Dollar General. You will also go through downtown Jackson, pass a Bruster’s, Subway, CVS, etc.
  • Take Georgia Highway 42 South out of Jackson, which veers to the right.
  • Fork right at Flovilla towards Indian Springs, Georgia. You will pass some junk shops along your way, and the gated Indian Springs Campground (not your destination). Then you will see a creek, and a rock bridge on your right.
  • Turn right at the yellow flashing light in front of the Big Chief gas station.
  • Drive until you get to the end of the road, and pass through the campsite fence.

Park in the parking area, you will be next to the Tavern.

From Macon:

  • Take I-75 North to Exit 188. You will see a big brown sign for Indian Springs before this exit.
  • Make a left on 42, heading north. You will be on this road for some time.
  • Turn left at the yellow flashing light at the Big Chief Gas Station.
  • Drive until you get to the end of the road, and pass through the campsite fence.
  • Park in the parking area, you will be next to the Tavern.
