Have you ever wondered how the kobolds feel when the players start killing them in a TTRPG? A Full Time Monster gets to be those kobolds – and so much more – for a full event.
What is a Full Time Monster?
A Full Time Monster is a player who works with Staff and Plot to play the “Bad Guys” which the Player Characters interact with. They may play an angry rat in a basement, a lost orphan looking for help, a strange alien being – whatever the storyline calls for.
As a Full Time Monster, you have control over your working hours. Whereas a Player Character signs up for a Volunteer Shift and must work that entire shift, a Full Time Monster can choose their breaks as they wish.
Players who are Monstering will report to the Plot Team. Throughout the event, Plot will tap in Monsters for various mods, and will give the Monsters costumes, LARP weapons, and instructions for what will be needed. Each mod will have a Marshal, who will be present the entirety of the mod, who will provide all details needed throughout the encounter. Full Time Monsters will never be alone – they will always have someone to ask questions of and check in with.
Why Full Time Monster?
When joining Xadune, starting as a Full Time Monster has many benefits. Firstly, by playing “Monsters”, you gain experience with the ruleset and combat system without risking your Character. You experience a wide range of combat styles and roleplay opportunities with very little consequences. In short, you get to try it before you invest.
Secondly, beginning as a Full Time Monster gains you extra Starting XP towards your Character. All XP earned will go to your Character, and if you have not yet played your Character, that XP is banked. Additionally, there are Promotions for beginning as a Full Time Monster.
How Much Does It Cost?
In short – its Free! Coming out for the event costs nothing, your parking is free, and we will 90% of the time be able to find a bed for you. Purchasing food from the Tavern is an extra fee.
If you want to gain XP while Full Time Monstering, there is a $15 fee. This guarantees a bed in a cabin, a full event of fun, and at least 3XP towards your character. Earning XP does require the player to Monster for at least half the event.
