We hope you all are getting home safe and sound while staying warm!
I want to give a be shout out the this seasons plot team for all the great stuff they were able to do this season!
Another noteworthy announcement is for next event. It takes place in a relatively short time period from now. HOWEVER, in-play, next event picks up where this event left off. No time would have passed in-play between next event and this past one. Again, the event happening in January will be in-play starting on the night of December 17th.
No, learn-time will not be effected. You will still be learning as if the correct time passed. Yes, that means the night you all beat the salad frogs is a very very long night. No, that does not mean you don’t get a reskill. Mechanic wise it will be treated as the next event. The ONLY thing this effect is in-play roleplay and time. Nothing else.
There honestly shouldn’t be questions about this, but if there is please use the proper channel to ask them! We were happy to entertain you all and can’t wait to see you next event!

Hey Ward 5 Adventurers! It is almost time for the July 2022 Xadune Event at F.D. Roosevelt State Park Small Group Camp. We are headed to District Periwinkle in Ward 1, so costume appropriately!
Dropping that pin…
It is looking like rain all weekend, with highs in the 80’s and lows in the 70’s. Bring extra socks! Bring a fan for your cabin, as you will want to keep your windows closed.
Volunteer Sign Ups will be done on site at Check-In (kicking it old-school this event).
As we pointed out last event, the economy has changed a bit since the last time we updated Tavern Prices (back in 2016). As such, we been forced to raise prices on a few items. The Dinner Menu is the same as what you experienced at the May event. You can see the full Tavern Menu below.
Please plan accordingly. You can add money to your tavern tab at the link below!
Behold, Tuesday has arrived. To most that just means it’s the third day of the week (or second depending on your upbringings), but to a small few they will know this Tuesday must herald in the coming of the third revision of the Player’s Handbook. Behold, version 3.0 of the Xadune ruleset (Not seeing it? Try refreshing your browser and trashing your cookies). Not a whole lot have changed; mostly just improvements, advancements, clarifications, and the sort that have been made numerous times. We will be giving current players three events to transition to the new ruleset, in which (in September) the new rules will be in full effect.
We are only human. There will be some type-o still after our editors have gone through the rulebook. Please, if you see something, point it out to us in a collection of notes you might see as you read through the new PHB. DO NOT SEND US MULTIPLE MESSAGES FOR EACH AND EVERY MISTAKE YOU FEEL YOU HAVE FOUND. The last thing we should mention is there is still some little formatting things we will be changing, and thus some page numbers will be moving around as this happens. The biggest thing that will affect the formatting is the addition of pictures as well as some “coming soon” area.
Which brings us to our last point. We love pictures. We would like more in the Handbook. So, this is a general call out to anyone that wants to submit pictures to us that we might put in the new PHB. We will not use everything we get, but we like options. You do not get a say on where it will go in the handbook either, but if you would like to know some specifics we would like, give us a shout out. The maps and what not are not for player interpretation. All pictures should have a very general steampunk and Xadune game world feel to it. Please steer away from personalized characters. Those pictures that we do use will give credit to the artists in a special section of the PHB.
Though the PHB has always had a digital copy registered with the Library of Congress, once we complete the formatting of this version, we will finish our ISBN application and have an official print copy as well to add to the LoC. Copies will be available to players as well of course. The planned timeline for this is to be done with submissions when we go hard set over to the new ruleset (so September) then a month or two to finish up anything we need to do to the book. So, if all goes well, super fun Christmas presents!
Thank you all for you help and dedication to Xadune. All questions should be submitted via the “Submit a Question” form. We are excited to have made it this far. This year Xadune becomes a rowdy teenager!
Now that we have that out and in the open, lets talk about this weekend, the event. It’s time for nearly everyone to reup their safety course knowledge. We will have a list on site for those of you that need to retake it and I will be giving these courses to groups of five as they collect. I would love to get it all out of the way before opening ceremonies, so get to site on time!
It will be a warm event and we have a lot of action planned, so be prepared. Keep hydrated! Don’t do dumb things (OOP) but do dumb things (IP only please). We are all super excited to see you all in a couple days and hope you have been having a great week so far!
It is almost time for the April Xadune event! We hope you are just as excited as we are.
Just a few announcements and reminders…
Keeping Up the Immersion
We are back at Daniel Morgan this event, which feels like home more than anywhere. As such, we are asking that you help us keep up the immersion as much as we work to do so for you.
Out-of-play items, such as cell phones, should be used in out-of-play areas. While we understand the need to carry around cell phones in case of emergencies, we are imploring you to not use them in in-play areas. Should you need to check your phone, simply step into your cabin, the bathroom, or head out to the parking area. Daniel Morgan gets terrible cell service anyway, so going off-site may be the best option. As always, there is a landline available in the Tavern for anyone who needs to make a phone call; simply tell the kitchen staff you need to use the phone.
First offenses will be met with a warning. Multiple offenses will be written on your character card and will receive a penalty.
Other out-of-play items should be kept in your cabin in an out-of-play area, which should be denoted on your cabin notes. Please read page 32 of the Player’s Handbook for more information on out-of-play items in your cabin.
Tags and Phys-Reps
Phys-rep; Slang or short for Physical Representation. Most often referring to a weapon or item but can also extend to your character if you (the player) are doing one thing OOP while your character is, for example, sleeping in the cabin. Weapon physreps are the actual real life items, not the tag. So if you are asked for the phys-rep of said item you need to produce the actual item. In the case of character phys-reps, it means what physical representation you left behind to show that your PC is there (i.e.: a roll of blankets and pillows obviously labeled as your sleeping PC with your equipment and so on with it). It should go without saying that all items on a character should be represented. If you are ever asked by a Staff member to display the items on you and their phys-rep and you are lacking said phys-reps the items will be stripped from you. Repeated violations of this will result in some type of punishment.
Page 21-22 of the Xadune Player’s Handbook
All tags must be phys repped. This is important especially for weapons. Typically a weapon tag has a month (one event) to be phys repped before the tag expires. A weapon tag would be turned in to Staff in exchange for a safety tag at that time.
Some Notes
As you may be aware, we are requiring full vaccination against COVID-19, including a booster shot if eligible, for attendance to the event. We recommend, but do not require, a flu shot as well.
It is going to be cold, with lows in the 30’s. Camp Daniel Morgan does NOT have heated buildings. Please pack layers, extra socks, hats, and whatever you need to stay warm. Space heaters WILL trip the breakers, so heat the person, not the room. Tavern will have warm drinks, as always.
Add money to your Tavern Tab early, or bring cash. We cannot accept credit cards on site.
Volunteer Sign Up Policies
Remember you cannot sign-up multiple people in one slot and please read the times – do not presume the are consecutive; many time slots overlap with each other. If you sign up for time slots which overlap, one of them will be removed, and you may not get your choice of a follow-up time.
As we have with previous events this year, we would like to keep as safe as possible considering the world state. Please take your time to wipe down your weapons after combat. Remember to balance role-play with respecting people’s personal space, with trying to stay warm.
Welcome to the Season 12 Opener of Xadune! New Year, New Plot Team, and a fresh adventure! You won’t want to miss out on this – make sure you get your ticket today!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season! We have a few New Year’s Announcements:
Firstly, as our gift to you, every player who played a game with us in 2021 gets one Craft Skill R1 or Artistic Skill R1 at no cost to one character! Please use the Submit a Question button to let us know what specific Craft or Artistic Skill you want. https://xadune.com/submit-a-question/
Secondly, we have updated the Xadune Skills List to the most updated version! This contains every Skill currently in Xadune. https://xadune.com/Xadune_PHB_Skills.pdf
Thirdly, due to the state of COVID in the area, we have adjusted our COVID policies. We had previously announced that we would increase the event size to 75 people on site, but we will be limiting events to 50 people on site through at least July. Secondly, we will be requiring COVID-19 Vaccine Booster shots for everyone on site, as the person become available for it. Please update your Medical Information Form with your COVID-19 Vaccine Card. https://xadune.com/medical-information-form/
In closing, we implore you, it is incredibly important that you inform Staff of odd things immediately, such as unregistered people on site, animals wandering on site, or anything of the sort. Staff must be informed at the time of the incident and Staff will deal with it accordingly (including calling the authorities if necessary). To locate Staff look for a member with a radio to contact them.
– Volunteer Shift Sign-Ups are below! IF YOU SIGN UP FOR OVERLAPPING SHIFTS, BOTH SHIFTS WILL BE REMOVED. You will not be allowed to ‘just monster longer’. The shifts are there because that’s when we need volunteers.
– People who expect to be Orange Headbanded are given priority to Tavern Shifts, as it is a non-combat shift.
Indian Springs State Park

Please only choose a Tavern shift if you are unable to participate in combat (i.e., orange headbanded or close to it). If you have not communicated this need to us and sign up for a tavern shift, you will be removed from the slot and you may not get your choice in time.
As we have with previous events this year, we would like to keep as safe as possible considering the world state. Please take your time to wipe down your weapons after combat. Remember to balance role-play with respecting people’s personal space, with trying to stay warm.
