Thanks for a Great August Virtual Event!

We had a blast at the Virtual Event and hope you all did as well. Our next Social Distance Q&A and Fire-side Xadune story-time is coming up in a couple weeks, we hope to hear from you all then as well! Surveys were also sent out today; if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask and thank you all for your help!

We all miss you all dearly! Please stay safe and sane!

July 2020 Virtual Event: Rules, Mechanics, and Sign Ups

The July 2020 Virtual Event is only days away, and I’m sure you’re wondering how we are going to turn a LARP into an online tabletop. Worry not! We have a rules document below!

We will be using a simplified, modified D20 system. Combat is possible with this system, although much like in a normal physical event, not every mod will have combat.

Update: It seems we forgot about movement speed! All characters will have a movement speed of 30ft/round. Monsters may have a modified movement speed to fit the creature, for example, a slow zombie might only move 15ft/round.

The Broken Rabbit Inn

The Discord server will be set up with several voice channels. One will be the Broken Rabbit Inn, where in-between-mod roleplay can happen. If you don’t quite feel like being in mods for the entire event, feel free to stop by the Tavern, grab some water, and relax a bit. Just… don’t fall asleep.

Mods and Sign Ups

Mods will be pre-hooked in the Broken Rabbit Inn Forum RP . A Sign-Up link will be sent to Annual Pass Holders and Pre-Registered players prior to Saturday. Please keep in mind, when signing up for mods, that you can only be in one place at a time; don’t sign up for multiple mods in the same time slot. Additionally, if you see a mod with fewer players signed up, it is courteous to spread the players across multiple mods.

If you are unable to attend the entire event, and need to drop in and out – worry not! You can sign up for mods in time slots which you are available for.

XP, Loot, and Used Items

Firstly, everyone gets 2XP for playing in this event! (Except Annual Pass holders, you all get 3XP as normal). You have the option to earn Donation XP as per the usual rules.

Mods may give XP or item rewards. In the case of XP rewards, this will be tallied as RP XP, and will go on your card after the event. If you happen to earn/find/loot items, the tags for these items will be given to you at Check-In at the next physical event.

Should you use items, such as bullets, spell components, healing supplies, etc., the tags for these must be turned in at Check-In at the next physical event. Failure to do so will be considered cheating.

Tag expiration: All tag expiration dates will be extended by the number of days we have not had an event; meaning, from what should have been the March event until this event (113 days) (man, that’s a lot of days…). So if you had anything expire over the break, worry not!

Plot Finale

You might have noticed the Thought-Stealing Image, but if you haven’t: this virtual event will be Plot Season 10’s Finale Event. Don’t miss out on the epic ending to a plotline years in the making.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or anything regarding this event, please feel free to reach out to the Cards account on the Xadune Forums. This is new to us as well, and we ask for your patience as we figure this out together.

The Xadune Staff, Storyteam, and Plot want to thank all of you for being amazing during this tumultuous time.

July 2020 Event Changes

Once again, it comes as no surprise that we are cancelling the physical July 2020 Xadune event at Camp Daniel Morgan due to COVID-19 concerns.

However, we will be hosting an online role-play event via Discord on July 11th, 2020!

This event will (tentatively) run from 1 pm – 8 pm EST. Regular admission is $20 for pre-registration, $25 at the ‘door’ (day of), and includes Mods and Loot. RP-Only admission is only $5, and grants you access to the Broken Rabbit Inn role-play voice chat.

This event is open to both current players and new players – even if you have never played a physical Xadune event!

Pre-registered players will be able to sign up for Mods when Mod registration opens. This lets you pick which Mods you’d like to go on, during the times are you are available.

More information will be posted closer to the event!

Important Notice about March Event

It is with deepest concern for our players that we announce the Xadune March 3-Day Event is cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  The Plot Season 10 Finale will be moved to the April 24-26 event.

Xadune is like a family to us. At this time, there are 42 confirmed cases in Georgia, and there are possibly many more untested and unconfirmed cases.  We are not willing to risk the health of our players or game runners by asking everyone to travel across the state – or across the country.

If you have pre-paid for the event, there are 3 options:
1) You can receive the normal XP from the event, as if it were played plus one additional RP/Combat XP
2) Your pre-payment can be forwarded and applied to the April event
3) Can you receive a refund

Season Pass Holders will receive XP for the event as if the event were played plus an additional 1xp for the inconvenience, and will receive the in-play benefits of Units and Healing Supplies at the April event, in addition to the April event’s share.

Learn times will be continuing through to April.  If you have an active learn time, it will not pause on March 20th, but instead continue to April. If a player had a learn time complete in this time and the player wished to start a new skill or ability learn, please contact Staff to work out something on this one time occasion. We will make a one time exception to allow the learning of one skill or ability due to this inconvenience. Normal learn times and cost will still be incurred, but we do not want to slow character progression.

Additionally, playing in the April 24-26 event will earn each player a base of 4.5XP, rather than the normal 3XP, with a potential maximum XP of 10.5XP.

Thank you all for understanding. We hope everyone stays healthy and happy.  Keep washing your hands, and we will see you in April!

August 2019 Promotion: Full Time Monsters get 5XP

CALLING ALL MONSTERS

All Full-Time Monsters for the August 2019 Event will earn 5 XP (instead of the normal 3XP)!

Full-Time Monsters will be working with Staff, Plot, and Storyteam to play the creatures, people, or objects players interact with in roleplay and combat scenarios. For more information on Monstering, check out the Volunteer Page.

Monstering is a great way to try out Xadune!

Veteran players and new players alike qualify for this promotion. No experience is necessary. Full-Time Monsters are asked to bring black/dark clothing and comfortable shoes, but otherwise all costuming and weapon will be provided.

This promotion is only available August 2-4th, 2019. This promotion can combine with other active new-player promotions. Pre-Register online to reserve a bed.

Tavern Shift Updates

We are making a slight change to Tavern Volunteer Shifts, effective the May 2019 event.

When you work a full 3 hour Tavern shift and get your card signed for it, you will receive a $4.50 credit towards your tavern tab for the event you worked the shift. This credit does not carry over from event to event and is not applicable for past events.

Only one credit can be earned an event. Working multiple tavern shifts does not earn multiple credits.

If you have never worked a Tavern Shift at Xadune, you will be asked to work your first few shifts with someone who has previously.

For more information on Tavern Shifts and Volunteer Shifts, please see the Volunteering Page.

April 2019 Promotion: Drive a New Player to Site

Xadune is running a new promotion for the April 2019 LARP Event! Do you have a friend who would love Xadune, but always makes an excuse on why they can’t make it? A ride is no longer an excuse with this promotion!

Drive a new player to the 2019 April Xadune Event from April 19th—21st and earn 3XP towards a character of your choice. Must be the driver of the car and provide proof of such (“car selfie” shown at check in is sufficient). New players are defined as persons who have not played an Xadune event previously.  New players must pay for an event as a Player Character or Full Time Monster. Earned XP does not contribute to Maximum XP Cap for the April 2019 Xadune Event.

So bring your friends and advance your character this April! New Players can also check out the Getting Started and Promotions pages.
